BUBS Candy - packaging redesign
The goal of the packaging redesign was to make the product marketable for the U.S. market launch.
I chose resealable plastic bags that are the same size as the original BUBS bags. Resealable bags were the ideal choice because not only are they convenient, but are also very popular with US candy brands.
These bags have the hole at the top so when presented in stores, they can be hung as they usually are. But there is another option with these bags. The bottom is flat, therefore the bags can stand on their own, which allows them to be placed on a shelf in rows as well. The original bags can be more limiting in that sense.
On the back of the box below the BUBS logo, I added “manufactured in Sweden, since 1992” which is the place and year BUBS was founded.
On the front of the box, above the Fairtrade, and the BUBS logo, I added a new slogan: “our skull-licious candy will blow your mind”. This is making a play of words using “skull” and “delicious”. Most US candy brands have fun and silly slogans that are catchy so the consumer sees and remembers them along with the brand.
